The Henry J was a US vehicle made by Kaiser- Frazer Company and was named after Henry J. Kaiser, its chairman. The manufacture of six-cylinder replicas started in July 1950, then shortly after Labor Day the same year the production of a four-cylinder model began. The formal public presentation was on 28th September 1950. The vehicle was traded through 1954.
The built of this car was the concept of Henry j. Kaiser, who aimed to grow sales of his Kaiser Auto line by including a vehicle that could be manufactured cheaply and thus be affordable to an average US citizen in the similar vein that Ford made model T. The aim was to entice less wealthy shoppers who could only manage a second-hand vehicle.
In order to fund this project, Kaiser Frazer firm obtained a confederate government credit in 1949. This funding identified different specifications of the car. Kaiser-Frazer would devote to plan a car that in its appearance traded for not more than $1,300. It was to accommodate at least five commuters and could travel for at least fifty miles per hour. The car was accessible for retail trade not later than 30th September 1950.
